Hosting and delivery
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. When the site is requested, Vercel may process technical request data such as IP address, time, requested path, referrer, and browser or device information. This is necessary to deliver and secure the site. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interests are reliable delivery, abuse prevention, and technical security. Vercel may process data in the United States under its data-processing terms and EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Operational data is retained only as long as needed for delivery, security, and applicable legal obligations.
Web analytics
Vercel Web Analytics measures aggregated page views so the project can understand which archive sections are used. According to Vercel, the service uses no cookies, does not create persistent visitor profiles, and discards its generated request hash within 24 hours. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is privacy-preserving, aggregate usage measurement. See Vercel's analytics privacy information.
Cookies and local storage
This site does not set its own cookies and does not store information in the browser's local or session storage. Activated third-party players may use their own storage as described below.
Archive media
Some images are delivered directly by technoarchiv.ak.tu-berlin.de. Loading them sends the archive server the technical request data required for delivery, including the visitor's IP address. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is presenting the documented archival material with its source records.
YouTube and SoundCloud
Embedded YouTube and SoundCloud players remain blocked until the visitor actively selects “Load”. Before that choice, this site makes no request to those providers. Loading a player may transmit the visitor's IP address, device information, and page context to the provider and may allow the provider to store or read information on the device. The legal basis is the visitor's consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where applicable, § 25(1) TDDDG. Activating one player also activates all other players from that same provider on the current page; YouTube and SoundCloud consent remain separate. The choice is not remembered across page loads. Reloading the page prevents further loading, but cannot reverse data already transmitted. YouTube and SoundCloud process activated-player data under their own responsibility and may transfer it outside the European Economic Area. Provider details, recipients, retention, and transfer safeguards are described in the Google privacy policy and SoundCloud privacy policy.
Email contact
When someone contacts the project by email, the supplied contact details and message are processed to answer the request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is handling correspondence, rights notices, and corrections. Messages are deleted when the request is resolved unless legal retention duties or the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims require longer retention.
Your rights
Subject to the statutory conditions, data subjects may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and portability, and may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Consent may be withdrawn for the future. Requests can be sent to the controller above. Complaints may be made to a data-protection authority, including the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. No automated decision-making or profiling is used by this site.
